Good Monday Morning,

Today is shortened schedule due to the musical you will be attending in the afternoon.

In math class, you are to prepare your own reference sheet-this must be your own work. You may bring this into the test tomorrow. Do the REVIEW QUIZ at the end of the chapter and check your answers in my book. When finished, go to classzone.com and practice eworkbook or animated games for chapter 10.

Review for chapter 10 test.

Grades close on Friday, April 3.

Make this a great day,

Good THURSDAY Morning,

It is a half day for you students today. No school for you folks on Friday either. Grades close on April 3, one week from tomorrow!!!

In math class we will review any problems you may be having with using formulas on surface area and volume for 3-D solids.
The test is on Tuesday- bring in YOUR own hand written reference sheet to use on chapter 10 test.
Today is "Cuppie Cake Friday" on THURSDAY!!! Let them eat cake!

Good Wednesday morning,

How is it going for you in math with all the formulas? I have heard a bit from students that working and solving volume formulas is easier than surface area? This is good to hear. For one thing, just working over and over(practice) with formulas, makes the work more automatic, and secondly, I think you are now able to understand the symbols. Anyways, it is great that I am getting this feeling of the concepts surface area and volume of 3-D solids coming along.
Classwork: Review Quiz 2 on page 525

We are reviewing the work on volumes and starting to review for our test that is coming up on Tuesday over Chapter 10. Remember to bring in your own formula sheet to use during the test. Ask any question you may have on this during class, tutorial or before school.

FYI:
* Half student day on Thursday
* No school for students on Friday
* Grades close next Friday, April 3

Good Tuesday Morning,
I hope all is going well using formulas to help solve surface area problems for 3 - D shapes. We have covered surface area formulas for PRISMS, CYLINDERS, PYRAMIDS, and CONES. Surface area is the total outside surface of a polyhedron or solid. Nets are used to represent a solid in 2- D. We compared and contracted the properties of each of the solids, paying close attention to the bases.
After going over the work from last night on surface area of cones and pyramids, we will start to look into more formulas on VOLUMES of each of these shapes. How are surface area and volume alike and different?

Classwork to homework: Page 515-516 #2-26 even # Show all work

We are nearing the end of Chapter 10 and you know what that means- a test coming up on Tuesday. To prepare for it, you may bring in a standard sheet of paper( front and back) to use during the test that is filled with info. I would suggest that you record formulas in a neat and organized manner. You must bring in your own hand copy of this sheet.

FYI:
The Quarter ends April 3
Half student day on Thursday
No school for students on Friday

Make this a great day.

Good Monday Morning,

I hope you all had a restful weekend and are ready to go today.

In math class we are working on finding surface area of polyhedrons and solids using formulas. Now that we have done this with prisms and cylinders, this should be an easier week when we find the surface area of pyramids and cone.

Good Thursday Morning,

Well, I do believe that we are going to have math after sure a dry spell with MEAs, field trips, high school scheduling and all. Do you remember where we are?

We will be going over the homework on page 505 #2-18 on surface areas of polyhedrons and solids. Make sure to come to class with all your math materials and ready to start.

Happy St Patty's Day to all,

With the field trips to the art museum today and tomorrow, we will not be having classes other than Period 1. That class will be doing what they didn't do with the other 3 classes and that is surface area of polyhedrons and solids.

Good Monday Morning,

It is nice to have the MEAs in the past. It was a long week undertaking these, but you made it through.

FYI: The high school staff will be coming in to talk to you about your high school courses first period.

In math class we will be looking at surface area of prisms and cylinders. We will be applying formulas.

In class we will work on pages 504-505 # 2 18 even numbers. Finish this as homework.

Make this a great day.
